Kris was born and raised in Arizona before moving northward to Alaska in 1986. In 2000, while living in Haines, Alaska, she and a friend started a business making and selling all kinds of arts and crafts. She began painting and quickly fell in love with it. She painted animals on rocks and loved to see them “come alive” under her hand!
Kris learned the One Stroke painting technique and is a Certified Instructor. While teaching a card painting class one day, she needed a greeting to add to the card that wasn’t her handwriting. So, she tried a rubber stamp greeting… and card-making mania started! To Kris, cards are smaller works of art that are mailable world-wide!
Kris still teaches painting, but also includes card-making and other kinds of art into her classes. It touches Kris’ heart in ways she never imagined possible when she sees the smile when someone receives or purchases one of her cards!
To Kris, art is therapy!
